Red Cedar Gazebos

Our Red Cedar Gazebos are made with 100% top-grade North American Western Red Cedar, an extremely durable and superior-quality wood.

Its natural oils not only help to preserve its radiant beauty, but make it resistant to insects and decay as well. Its dimensionally stable properties prevent warping and ensure that it will always lie straight.

Cedar can also be used for the floors, which may be sealed and stained to maintain their reddish hue, or allowed to weather naturally to a rich gray. This sturdy wood is a great choice if you’re planning to install a hot tub in your gazebo.

Besides its natural resistance to rot, decay, and insects, cedar also possesses a straight grain, which makes the cedar shingles lie flat. In fact, cedar roofs have been known to last for more than 70 years, which makes it a superb choice. An annual coating with a quality stain/sealer will keep the cedar looking new, while untreated roofs will turn a rustic-looking gray.

Treated Pine Gazebos

Our Treated Pine Gazebos are constructed of #1 grade, natural select, Treated Southern Yellow Pine.

The lumber is treated with Alkaline Copper Quaternary (ACQ), an environmentally friendly, nontoxic, water-based preservative that is free of arsenic and chromium. In addition to this process, which prevents decay and insect damage, the pine is KDAT (kiln-dried after treatment), to minimize warping, checking, and twisting.

Additionally, because it's already dry, you don't have to wait to paint or stain it like the wet lumber you find in most lumberyards.

We also use Southern Yellow Pine for our standard gazebo floors, which can be sealed and stained for retention of their yellow hue. Otherwise, they will weather to a natural yellow-tinted gray.

They are also rot-resistant, insect-repelling, and take better to stains than smooth cut wood surfaces. If left unstained/unsealed, the cedar will weather to a rich silver-gray patina.
