Hurricane Package

Resists up to 140mph winds!
Our gazebos are made to be the most sturdily built on the market, but areas where severe conditions are a concern require additional customizations and preparations.

By adding the hurricane package, our basic wooden or vinyl gazebos are “beefed” up by adding braces, brackets, hurricane tie-downs and anchoring methods as required to produce a structure capable of withstanding all but the most fierce of hurricanes up to 140mph winds. We also supply anchoring plans, and lots of help for customers going through the permit process. The types and number of additional hardware components vary by size of gazebo. Engineering drawings, stamped by a licensed engineer for your state are available, if needed, for an additional charge.

Because of engineering – not all products and options can be fitted with a Hurricane package. This includes all Cedar models (cedar is light weight and screws do not have the same holding power). Other options such as decorative posts are not compatible with engineering for 140+ mph wind loads.

You can select the hurricane package in the “Additional Options” section on our structure wizard pages. If the Hurricane package does not appear, that means the standard hurricane package does not work on that structure as designed. We may however, still be able to custom design the structure to meet your local codes. Ask a project advisor for assistance.

Some locations require wind loads above 140 mph (as high as 180). Generally, this does not greatly affect the design of the structure much, but would require additional engineering.
