Shed Maintenance

Our sheds are designed to give you decades of enjoyment while retaining their good looks with minimal effort. However, there are a few steps that you can take to ensure that your shed ages gracefully.

SmartSide

SmartSide is a superb material for outdoor siding and will last for many years in a wide range of climates if cared for properly.

For optimal care:

Visually inspect the condition of the siding at least once a year.
Use a cloth, sponge, or soft brush and a bucket filled with a solution of mild detergent and water, then rinse with a garden hose.
Use a solution of three parts water to one part white vinegar to remove light mold and mildew stains.
Never use harsh abrasives or solvents on your siding; these can damage the surface or paint.
Do not use a pressure washer.

Vinyl

Vinyl siding is very popular for many reasons, and one of those reasons is the exceptionally low level of maintenance required to keep it clean.

For optimal care:

Apply warm, soapy water with a sponge.
Use a standard garden hose to rinse clean.
Occasional stubborn spots may require scrubbing with a soft-bristle brush.
Do not use a pressurer washer.
