Cypress is a very strong and durable wood, so if you are looking to add a more finished look to the inside of your gazebo, a cypress ceiling will do the trick. We use tongue and groove boards that are nailed to the bottom of the rafters. Trim boards go over the seams and around any openings, cupolas or double roofs.
The oils in cypress make it one of the most durable woods when exposed to moisture conditions causing decay. Noted for its color consistency, density, hardness and relative lack of knots it is also an exceptionally stable wood, which makes it highly resistant to splitting and warping. Dimensional stability also enables the wood to readily accept paints and stains.
