The spacing of the pergola’s top runners is an aesthetic choice, and does not affect the stability of the structure. However, the further apart the runners are spaced, the less shade the pergola will provide.

Standard spacing on the top slats is a 3” gap (4.5” O.C.). To provide over 50% shade coverage, an option for 1 ½” gap (3” O.C.) is given. Fewer top runners are also available. Please speak to your Project Advisor for details.
