A Pergola can be as open or as private as the designer can imagine. If you need a little privacy, the possibilities are nearly endless for privacy panels, walls, and railings—either solid or lattice. We’ve given you a variety of options, but if you have your own idea, your project advisor will do everything he can to make it work!

A standard pergola has four sides (If you need a three or five sided variety, just ask, by the way), so you have a choice of how to enclose (or not) each space. Square pergolas have four equal sides, but feel free to choose a different wall style for each one! Rectangular structures give you two shorter and two longer sides; a variety that invites unique customization! How about a solid wall on one side, a half wall on another, and a lattice wall on the third? Have another idea? Let us know!

INSTRUCTIONS: You will need to choose a privacy wall (or none) for each of the three of the four sides of the pergola (the fourth side is left open to make sure you can get in and out!). On each side, labeled Side A, Side B, and Side C, simply select what kind of design you want to fill that space!

A Solid Half Wall with Lattice is a wonderful way to add privacy while still creating an open feeling. The high quality lattice section is perfect for vining plants or just adding textural depth to your outdoor structure.

VERY Important Note concerning all Privacy Panels. Our deluxe Pergolas are made so that the posts are stationary and cannot be moved during assembly. Our 2 Beam Pergolas give you the ability to move the posts a few inches when constructing them. If you order any of the privacy panels, be sure to discuss in detail the size of the panels, as they will be sent pre-assembled, unless you want a knocked down version with the ability to cut the parts.
