In order to allow you to match the paint and shingle color to match your house, we do not include shingles or paint in your shed kit. This also helps to keep our economy sheds affordable, and greatly reduces the damage to a painted finish during shipping and construction. You can purchase shingles, roofing nails, felt paper and a drip edge at your local home improvement store or lumber yard.,Small sheds - up to an 8 x 12 or 10 x 10- generally take less than a gallon of paint for the base color, due to the easy-to-paint, pre-primed siding. Depending on the color, a single coat may be enough, but it is recommended to use two coats. Sheds over 8 x 12 will need two gallons (plus trim, if you’re using a different color.),The number of shingles that you will need will vary by the size of your shed, of course. See the chart to see how many shingles are needed for each size and style. This number reflects the number of bundles you need, assuming you’re using a 20, 25 or 30 year standard shingle. There are three bundles per square (100 sf of coverage). Remember, the chart shows the number of bundles, not the number of squares. Ask your home center or lumber yard sales associate for the number of roofing nails required.
