7/16" thick Smart Panel Siding, made by Louisiana Pacific, has become the siding of choice where strength, resistance to moisture, and low maintenance are the priority. In no other application is this needed more than in your storage shed! Smart Panel is an OSB (Oriented Strand Board) based panel - but its not just particle board. Special glues and resin binders make the panel water resistant. This means no swelling, splitting, warping, or cracking. On the surface, the cedar grain laminate is coated with a special latex primer, and is ready to finish with any good exterior latex paint. A stain cannot be used because the water resistance will not allow the stain to be absorbed. Maintenance is low due to its resiliency, and because the siding needs to be finished less often.
