Every year, more people are having outdoor weddings; and, in what has become one of the hottest trends of the century, a great number of these ceremonies will be held in gazebos.
These affairs can be extremely fun and memorable for many reasons. Because the setting is non-traditional and open, it’s open to non-traditional choices in themes, colors, clothing, foods, favors, music, and games – and anything else one can imagine.

Among the most popular ideas is having a theme based on the honeymoon destination; so, if you’re going to Hawaii or any of the islands of the Caribbean, you may want to choose tropical flowers, decorations, food, and music, and have your guests dress accordingly.
Another big trend in outdoor weddings is to plan a tantalizing menu in the spirit of barbecue season, While you probably won’t want messy foods like ribs or pulled pork covered in heavy, sticky sauces (unless the dress is very casual), you can easily – and neatly – serve upscale picnic-style fare, such as grilled chicken or fish.

Some of the new favorites include chili-lime rubbed chicken breasts, coconut-fried chicken served with dipping sauces, and grilled tilapia topped with mango salsa. Potato, macaroni, and fresh fruit salads are perfect as side dishes, as well as grilled fruit and/or meat kebobs.
For outdoor receptions, many people like to have daiquiris and margaritas on the drink list; but anyone can get these at any bar, anytime.
