Semi-gloss paint is used mostly for trim, doors, and bathroom and kitchen cabinets. Its beautiful, glistening finish is extremely durable, and easy to keep clean. Although proper preparation is important before any paint job on any surface, it is especially crucial with this highly reflective type of paint, as it will draw attention to even the slightest blemish.
Gleaming, glistening gloss paint is rarely used on interior walls, but makes a striking accent on trim, wainscoting, cabinets, and some pieces of contemporary furniture. It can also give a home a stylish, welcoming aspect, when it’s used to paint the front door; but the darker the color, the more formal the look.
